The Remembrance Day ceremony is held this coming Sunday at the Cenotaph in Whitehall, London. As with every year, Her Majesty will be in attendance along with other members of the Royal Family. They will also be attending other Remembrance Day events held in the same week. Here are details of the 2012 events:
Thursday 8 November
- The Field of Remembrance is officially opened by The Duke of Edinburgh, at a Service held at Westminster Abbey.
- Prince Philip wil lay a Cross of Rembrance in front of two wooden crosses from the Graves of Unknown British Soldiers from the First and Second World Wars.
- The last post sounds followed by a two minutes' silence.
- The Duke will meet veterans from past and more recent conflicts.
Saturday 10 November
- The annual Royal Festival of Remebrance at the Royal Albert Hall will be attended by The Queen ad other Members of the Royal Family.
Sunday 11 November
- The Queen, along with other Members of the Royal Family, will lay wreaths at The Cenotaph.
