The Battle of the Bulge
The 16th December 2012 marks the 98th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge.
<p>The Battle of the Bulge occured towards the end of World War II. It began on 16 December 1944 and ended 25 January 1945.</p>

<p>The Battle of the Bulge was a major German offensive launched through the mountain region of Wallonia. The German's aim which to divide the Allies, and split the American and British camps straight through the centre.</p>

<p>The battle was mainly fought between German and American soldiers. The American's managed to contain the offensive and later defeat the Germans.</p>

<p>The Battle of the Bulge was the bloodiest the U.S, Forces were involved in during World War II- with an estimated 90,000 American fatalities.</p>
