In 2 weeks time the 92nd anniversary of The Somme at Villers-Bretonneux will be taking place. The village of Villers-Bretonneux has a close Australian connection. The re-taking of the village of Villers-Bretonneux on the night of 24-25 April 1918 was a significant military achievement for Australians that helped stop the German’s spring offensive – 2010 marks the 92nd anniversary of the battle.
